We would love for you to be part of this experience and there are many options for getting involved to suit ALL levels of fitness, ability, interest, time availability, etc, etc, etc. In short, if you want to be part of this adventure, you are very welcome to come along for the ride!
How?
The options for volunteering are limited only by the imagination. Here are just a few suggestions:
- make a pot of tea
- lift bales for a few hours
- bake a cake
- help to serve the meals to the Strawbale Building Workshop participants
- assist with daily set-up or pack-up of the building site
- dog-sit ‘Kip’
- render the house walls for a few hours
When?
We will be starting the build in March 2016 by hosting a strawbale building workshop. During the workshop, we may benefit from some volunteers to help us with catering, and during peak times when extra labourers are required. Although the workshop will see a whole lot of progress made on the house, there will be many more months and weekends spent rendering the external walls, erecting internal walls, building the kitchen, etc, etc, etc.
